Short: V15.2 *added NEW linkvirus and 4EF9 trojans information*
Author: Zbigniew Trzcionkowski (zeeball@interia.pl)
Uploader: Tomasz Wiszkowski (t_error@interia.pl)
Version: 15.2 (11.04.2001)
Type: util/virus
Requires: Amiga with OS 2.04+ (xvs.library strongly recommended)
Name: Safe
STATUS: FreeWare
NOTE THAT SAFE IS VIRUS DETECTOR - NOT FILE CHECKER OR CLEANER!
IT ONLY INFORMS ABOUT ATTACK AND REMOVES VIRUS FROM MEMORY
IF POSSIBLE!
$VER: - SIZE
v15.1 - 7000
* Tests with (old) viruses I have get recently:
- tested with EbolaII, StrangeAtmosphere and ZIB
(supplied Jan Anderesn)
- tested with Elbereth 1,2,3 and 4 linkviruses
(supplied by MadRoger)
* added French strings to installer script
(supplied by Herve)
* added PrintFault() behind ReadArgs to tell user what is wrong
(template with /S and /N is so complicted to understand...)
[v14.10 is one of Aminet fakes described below]
v15.2 - 7000
* Added memory freezer for tasks made by new 4EF9 trojans
* Added memory removals for new linkvirus (I call it BASTARD)
* Added xfd slave to detect BASTARD in files
* Added some information about shit which recently hit Aminet
* Added small antireasm trick. It will be improved till next release,
and codings will be changed, but IMHO if the lamer used
much older version, he still wouldn't try to crack the new ones
* This is snapshot of work in progress, so don't look at the
new parameter DIS/S. I will describe it if it is ready.
Please read included text about:
;========================================================================
4EF9 trojans like:
archive: size: said to be:
BlazeWCP.lha 32862 bytes v1.8
FBlit.lha 142086 bytes v3.84
Safe.lha 20737 bytes v14.10
StackAttack.lha 69229 bytes v1.2b
I must admit:
I learnt a lesson, but Amiga community learnt a lesson too.
I would see if the trojans were made by a real coder, but this
shit was just linked with wellknown linking stuff, so they
were VISIBLE with programs that use the (excellent) XFD library!!!
And please remember - version string of Safe is always visible
in file since the first version I have made in 1998.
;========================================================================
... and new linkvirus found at the same moment:
- the virus is polymorphic and hacks VirusCheckerII task in memory
- installer probably still in Aminet or somewhere else
- this one seems to be output of evil, but real Amy coder
This quality (if it is possible to talk about quality
of viruses) absolutely can't be compared to those lame trojans.

If You have found something not described here - please send
it as soon as possible to VHT-DK.
Escecially 4ef9 linked files from other archives than
the listed above.
Zeeball
PS. Major antiviruses are or will be updated as soon as possible.
PS2. Merry Easter!
